In order to promote our sport, many of us in the lacrosse world have been touting Jim Brown as an example of football players using lacrosse as an excellent crossover sport in the spring.  Most folks do not know that when Brown went to Syracuse, he went there to play lacrosse, not football. It was the lacrosse coach who just about had to beg the football coach to look at him. He then became one of the greatest running backs in NFL history.
     There is another more current public figure who is now in the news who is involved in lacrosse.
