FAIRMONT - Feb. 10 - Jon Cain, Fairmont Senior's girls coach, has announced their 5th Annual Mountaineer Meltdown to be held March 9 at East West Stadium and Rozier Field at Fairmont State. The annual Meltdown is unique in that it is held at two locations, one for the boys teams at East West Stadium and one for the girls teams at Fairmont State.

Girls Coach Needed
CHARLESTON - Feb. 16
- A group of girls at Capital High have organized themselves into a team and have been conditioning and practicing alongside the boys team. The girls would like to play some games this season, but need a coach. The WV Chapter of US Lacrosse will assist anyone willing to take up this challenge. If anyone is interested, they should contact Sarah Clifford at cliffordsj.2015@gmail.com.

2013 Boys' Champion All-American Showcase
Thursday, July 25 – Saturday, July 27
Lake Buena Vista, Florida

This traditional US Lacrosse event will return to Florida this summer. The event will feature 96 of the top high school boys’ players in the country, representing all corners of the United States, competing in a four-team format over three (3) days.

The selection process is an open application process through the month of February and March. Player applications may be submitted directly to US Lacrosse. 

The high school season is almost here!
FAIRMONT - Mar. 4
- Jon Cain, Fairmont Senior's girls coach, has released the schedules for the 2013 Mountain State Meltdown. The 5th Annual Meltdown is played in two places. The boys play at East West Stadium and the girls play at Fairmont State's Rozier Field, which has girls lines embedded in the artificial field surface.

FAIRMONT - Mar. 16 - The Capital High Boys' Lacrosse team lost its opener, 11-9, today, at Fairmont, in a hard-fought game.  The Polar Bears jumped out to a 7-2 lead in the first half before Capital closed the margin to 7-4 at half.  The Cougars outscored Fairmont 5-4 in the second half, but couldn't quite close the margin.  Leading scorers for Capital were Mason Jack with five goals and Joe Wright with one goal and two assists.  Dakota Stingo led Fairmont with six goals.


COLUMBIA, MARYLAND - Apr. 5 - University High won the 2013 Cat Cup at Wilde Lake High School in Columbia, Maryland on Friday night. The Hawks had victories over Oakdale Maryland and the host team, Wilde Lake. Wilde Lake High is known as the Wildecats, hence the name of the trophy.
